Opal Faye Baker

1950 – 2021

A memorial service for Opal Faye Baker, 71, of Emory, will be held Wednesday, May 12,  at 11:00 a.m. at Emory Church of Christ. 

Mrs. Baker died on May 7, 2021. She was born on March 23, 1950, in Montgomery to Andrew and Louise (Bailey) Blake. She was a resident of Emory since 1995 and formerly resided in Lovelady. She was the owner and operator of Y’all Come Back Café in Emory. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her son, Paul Baker and wife Holly of Portland; daughters, JoAnn Gibson and husband Michael of Crockett and Ranae Bryan and husband James of Emory; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb, Michael, Noah, Luke, Isaac, Emma, Brandon and Andy; brothers, Weldon Blake and wife Darlene of Huntsville and J.R. Blake of Montgomery; and sister, Esther Duncan and husband Billy Ray of Conroe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Baker; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bryan College Station Church of Christ.
