Funeral services for Terry Jill McGowan Asbill, 74, were held on June 30, 2023, at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Asbill died on June 27, 2023. She was born on October 29, 1948, to Bascom and Pauline Cook McGowan. She married Dwain Asbill in her parent’s home in Miller Grove, on August 6, 1965, when she was 16 years old and Dwain was 19. She graduated from Miller Grove High School the next year in 1966. They lived in the Bonanza community since 1984.
She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 55 years. Her favorite saying was “I am a Christian by grace, a Baptist by choice.”
She is survived by son, Jeff Asbill and wife Megan of Bonanza; daughter, Rhonda Allbritton and husband Jerry of Emory; grandsons, Preston Asbill, and Jarrett Allbritton and wife Dezaray; step-grandson, Seth Welborn; great-grandsons, Kaidyn Asbill and Damen Asbill; great-granddaughter, Bexley Allbritton; brother, Gary McGowan and wife Laura; sister-in-law, Barbara Hall; best friend, Pat Reep; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Maloy McGowan.
