Norma Jean Persell Queen, 92, died on October 16, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1932, to Clarence and Ruby Ruth Riley Persell in Phillipsburg, Kansas, where she grew up and graduated high school. She married Elisha Hill (Tex) Queen and raised three daughters in Kirtland, New Mexico.
Mrs. Persell is survived by her daughters, Jeanie Haber and husband Glen of Yantis, Nancy Richardson and husband Randy of Celina, and LaDonna Schneider and husband Jim of Emory; brother, Harold Persell and wife Sharon of Dolores, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Travis and wife Jennifer, Rex Haber, Hillary Richardson, Matthew Richardson, Chris Schneider and wife Courtney, Matthew Johnson, and Dawn Fields; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Jimmy. Norma moved to Texas after the death of her husband to be closer to her family.
The burial was held in Kirtland, New Mexico, next to her husband, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with Cope Memorial Funeral Home in Kirtland, New Mexico.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
