Ms. Fleming died on February 23, 2021. She was born in Durham, North Carolina, on November 6, 1952, to John Henry Fleming II and Bessie Virginia Fleming. She graduated high school and lived for a time in Rhode Island before moving to East Texas and settling in Rains County.

She took great pride in her work as a cook at Senior Suite Care & Rehab, helping to meet the nutritional needs of the elderly residents including H. T. Turner, the father of long-time life partner Mark Turner.

Upon retiring, she dedicated much of her time to gardening. She was well known for her canning skills, and her canned goods were generously shared with others. She loved animals, particularly dogs, and well-fed and loved pets were always in and around her home, thriving under her care.

Ms. Fleming is survived by her long-time life partner; two children, Jason of Texas and Jessica of Kentucky; brother, John Henry Fleming III and wife Jackie of Brooksville, Florida; sister, Brenda Bornsteine of Kaufman; and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Debbie Ann Eldridge.
