Funeral services for Micayla Rose Kolb, 17, of Alba, were held on March 30 at Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home in Quitman, with Chaplain Robert Stovall officiating. Interment followed at the Salem Cemetery in Alba,
Ms. Kolb died on March 27, 2023. She was born on May 9, 2005, in Sulphur Springs, to Jennifer Marie Nipp (Kolb) and Micah Kolb. She was a senior at Grand Saline High School where she was ranked fourth in her class, and was set to graduate in May. She was very involved in UIL Literacy Criticism, a member of the yearbook staff and a member of the student council. She had planned to attend Texas Tech University in the fall and attain her Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a minor in Interior Design.
She is survived by her mother of Baton Rouge, LA; her father and wife Shannon of Alba; brother, Shannon Nipp of Baton Rouge, LA; uncles, J.D. Nipp and wife Gina of Emory, and Kevin Nipp of Como; great-uncle, Randall Nipp and wife Sue of Emory; great-aunts, Sue Melton and husband Johnny of Emory, and Teresa Moseley and husband Paul of Alba; grandfather, Billy Nipp of Emory; grandmother, Donna Robertson of Alba; great-grandmothers, Helen Nipp of Emory, and Betty Alexander of Alba; and numerous other family, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Kolb; grandmother, Rose Nipp; and great-grandfather, J.D. Nipp.
Services were under the direction of Lowe-Gardner Funerals and Cremations in Quitman.
