Memorial services for Jimmy Ray Ballard, of Emory, will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 11:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church Point. Brother Zachary Honzell will officiate.
Mr. Ballard died on December 5, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1951, to Hershel and Lee Jencie Ballard.
After his education he became the manager at the family’s Hooks Truck Stop and was also a cattle rancher. He was a member and breeder of world class AQHA horses and German Shepherd dogs. He married Teri Wilson in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with all his children, and serving the Lord. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Point and also worked at Texarkana Baptist Children’s home.
He is survived by his wife; parents, Dwight and Dottie Curtis; nephews, Troy, Jerry and Shane Ballard and their families; sons, Jimmy Ray Ballard, Cash Wilson, Robert Ballard and Kirk Wilson; daughter, Claudia Ballard; and grandchildren, Robert Ballard Jr., Maddie Ballard and her children Waylon Wilson, Bryce Ballard and Ace Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Ballard; brother, Jerrol Ballard; uncle, HC Ivy; and nephew, Ray Ballard.
