Jim Edd Moore

1945-2024

Jim Edd Moore, 78 of Greenville, passed away on April 19, 2024. He was born on April 25, 1945 to his parents Henry Spurgeon Moore and Dimple Lorene Green in Greenville, Texas.

Married for 54 years to his devoted wife, Mary Paula Moore, Jim Edd showed an unwavering love and commitment to his family. He was always there to help and support them. This was not only extended to his family but to friends as well. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and his door was always open.

His professional pursuits began in the 1980s with the opening of his automotive business, J&R Auto Supply in Emory, Texas.  He was a “Jack of all Trades” and could build just about anything.  Tim Northcutt, who has worked for Jim Edd since he was sixteen, is now the owner of the business. He will continue the legacy of hard work and integrity as Jim Edd has taught him. He also enjoyed searching for antiques and restoring them to their former beauty. He could be found in Canton selling his beautiful treasures.

Jim Edd found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had quite a fondness for seafood, especially enjoyed with family and friends. He cherished walking daily with his Club Lake friends to aid in his exercise goals. He would do this daily, walking three miles. Jim Edd also had a special place in his heart for cats. His feline companions brought him such joy over the years.

Jim Edd is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Paula Moore; daughters, Shelley Moore  and Teresa Hokanson; Amber Middleton and (honorary son) Jake, and honorary son, Tim Northcutt and wife  Tracy;  grandchildren, Justin Nichol and Baxter Chaney, Ellizabeth Nichol,  Ian Middleton and wife Olyvia; brother, Charles H. Moore and wife Betty Jo; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved 15 year old kitty companion, Jolene Moore; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.

Jim Edd is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Davey “Goose” Moore, and his all time favorite feline, Cody.

A visitation took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas.  A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in the Prairie Valley Cemetery in Campbell, Texas.
