Funeral services for David Wayne Evans, 65, were held on March 20, at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home. Interment followed in Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Evans died on March 14, 2024, at home. He was born on December 18, 1958, in Texas City, to Jerry and Grace Evans.
Mr. Evans served six years in the US Navy. He lived in Rains County for the last 18 years and served two terms on the East Tawakoni City Council. He enjoyed exploring the open road on motorcycles, engaging in horseback riding, and conquering terrain on ATVs. He was a loving husband and father.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Julie Evans; mother, Grace Evans of Nacogdoches; children, Ken Dewayne Starnes, Jason Thomas Starnes and Jeremy David Evans; sister, Danna Serrano and Joseph of Austin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Evans; and grandparents.
