Funeral services for Carl Dane Panter, 93, of Emory, were held on November 1, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Interment followed at Pilgrim Rest #1. The Masons served as pallbearers.
Mr. Panter died on October 26, 2023 at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1930, to Samuel Collie Panter and Millie Opal Yandell, in Mineola.
As a teenager he worked with his parents on their dairy farm. He graduated from the University of Arlington with three degrees and became a college professor and high school teacher in West Texas. He was honorably discharged from both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Masonic Lodges 1440 in Emory, and 392 in Yantis, and became a Master Mason on December 10, 1951, at the Mineola Lodge number 502. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason and a Shriner.
Mr. Panter is survived by his cousin, Sam Panter; and great-aunt, Helen Panter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
