A burial service for Wilbur “Red” Wiley, 89, will be held on July 22, at 10:30 a.m., at DFW National Cemetery.
Mr. Wiley died on July 11, 2024, in Tyler. He was born on October 30, 1934, in Hardin, Ohio, to James Alexander Wiley and Mary Margaret Peters. Mr. Wiley served in the US Army and Air Force for 26 years and was a dedicated member of the Masons.
He was married to his wife, Marlene, for 45 years. They were married in Barnesville, Ohio on October 17, 1955, and had four children. He was a devoted and loving father who always made sure to be present for his family. Even when he was deployed, he stayed in touch through innovative ways like reel-to-reel communication.
He enjoyed watching football games, especially cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid clock builder with a passion for antique shopping.
Mr. Wiley is survived by his daughters, Lori Breaux and Barbra Wiley; son, Robert Eugene Wiley; grandchildren, Charles Ray Breaux, Jason Alexander Breaux, Michael Adam Wiley, Kaitlyn Wiley and Cody James Wiley; and great-grandchildren, Eva Breaux, Owen Breaux, Callie Breaux, Sean Breaux, Aiden Wiley and Marlene Wiley.
He was preceded in death by his wife; daughters, Rhoda Coleen McMurray and Debra Rene’ Wiley.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
