Wayne Yates, 67, died on June 12, 2026. He was born on August 1, 1958, to Lonny and Juiance Yates in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mr. Yates was a US Air Force veteran. Following his service, he worked as a maintenance man at Windpoint Park. His love of painting brought him joy, and he pursued it with passion and skill throughout his life.
He had a playful spirit and was particularly talented at horseshoes. He enjoyed playing quarters and all manner of games with his family, fishing, and spending tranquil days on the lake in his boat. Motorcycles were another great passion of his and he delighted in taking family and friends out for rides.
He married Brenda Yates on April 28, 1999.
Mr. Yates is survived by his wife; children, Shalako Yates, Joshua Weathers and Miranda Frazer; grandchildren, Logan Lawerence, Michael Frazer Jr., Colton Frazer and Braden Frazer; sisters, Bonnie Jacks and Jim, Kay Sheridan and Ronnie, Carol Erickson and Ricky, Mary George, Rose Crain, and Juanita Parker and Donald; nieces and nephews, Jessie Hailey and Everett, Clifford Parker, and Laura Dunbar; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Dunbar; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Dunbar and David Smith.
