Funeral services for Richard Scott Rabe, 65, were held on February 9, 2022, at Hilliard Funeral Home in Van,
Mr. Rabe was born on March 3, 1956, in Dallas, to Glynn Rabe and Anna Louise Dunn Rabe. He died on February 5, 2022, in Tyler.
He had been a resident of the Van/Ben Wheeler area since 1990, formerly living in Chapel Hill. He was a firefighter for 36 years, retiring from Tyler Fire Department in 2015. He played Santa Claus for many years, volunteering at schools in the area.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jeana Rabe of Ben Wheeler; three children, Zac Rabe, Lauren Rabe, and Chase Rabe; sister and brother-in-law, Dianna Rabe and Gary Liles; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Diane Rabe; sister-in-law, Risa Beckham; and granddaughter, JoJo Rabe.
