A graveside service for Maxine Sherwood, 95, of Point, was held on August 22, at Lone Star Cemetery.
Mrs. Sherwood died on August 19, 2025. She was born on December 6, 1929, during the Great Depression.
Mrs. Sherwood loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, the Dallas Cowboys, watching Wheel of Fortune, and keeping family all up to speed on the day’s news.
She is survived by her children, Lanell Johnson, Jerry Morrow and Tami, and Cindy Stapelton and Brent; grandchildren, Dana Reyes and Valente, Chris Morrow and Louri, Renee Johnson, Susan Pate and Tim, Jennifer Walters and John, Sherry Harradine and Shawn, and Samatha Thomas and Cody; 22 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Shinpaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Leona Briggs; son, Gary Olen Morrow; eight brothers; and two sisters.
