A memorial service for Mark Goldsmith, 62, was held on June 3, at Miracle Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Goldsmith died on May 29, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1962, in Sulphur Springs, to Billy Joe and Eloise Goldsmith.
He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. He was a dedicated dairy farmer and had a love for his cows and a passion for the land he worked. He also worked as a forklift driver and served as the hardware clerk at Hooten’s. He was married to Melissa Goldsmith for 40 years.
His most important role was as a father and grandfather and he took immense pride in how he raised his children. Nothing brought him more joy than being called Pops.
Mr. Goldsmith is survived by his wife, Melissa Goldsmith; children, Mark Shipman Jr. and wife, Kelsey, and Carlton Goldsmith and Allyson; grandchildren, Brenden Goldsmith, Eve Shipman and unborn granddaughter, Irelynn Goldsmith; siblings, Kathy Goldsmith and Billy Lynn Goldsmith; sister-in-law, Michele Kearney Kanooth; and numerous friends and his church family at Miracle Faith Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Micah Swanson; uncle, Randy Cole; and many other uncles; brother-in-law, Bobby Ray Kearney Jr.; cousin, Jimmy Don Goldsmith; and father-in-law, L. Thomas Scarborough Jr.
