Services for Lonnie Joe “Bud” Hays, 76, of Mineola were held on December 20 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba. Bro. Waymon Hass officiated.
Interment followed in Pilgrim Rest #1 Cemetery in Emory. Pallbearers were Douglas Hass, Brandon Hass, Brian Wright, Brian Lopez, Kyle Miller and Logan Miller.
Mr. Hays died on December 16, 2019, in Tyler. He was born March 3, 1943, in Rains County to William Hubert and Emogene Nelson Hays.
He married Lena Darlene Hass in Rains County on January 20, 1962. He lived all his life in Wood County and was a Seventh Day Adventist. He worked for Wood and Rains counties for 16 years. He also worked for Adair Construction, Tyler Pipe and Hoffman Architectural Metals.
Mr. Hays is survived by his wife of Mineola; son, Michael Joe Hays and wife Janice Ann of Alba; daughters, Lesa Dollar of Golden, Tonya Davidson and husband Ronny of Llano, Lana Baldwin of Grand Saline, Lawanna Gardner and husband James Pace of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Caci Arrington and husband Tony of Odessa; sisters, Barbara Rabe of Point, Avis Bledsoe and husband John of Colorado, and Jeannie Mitchell of Emory; grandchildren, Greg Coates, Amanda Casbeer, Kandice Hays, Emily Hays, Braxton Hays, Dave Davidson, Kara Bonner, Rayna Drolshagen, Dakota Hays, Dusty Baldwin, Patrick McCarty, Alexander Gardner, Colwyn Wren, Hannah Uren and Tristan Arrington; great-grandchildren, Skye, Michael, Natalye, Joey, Kallie, Samantha, Kimberly, Khristofer, Addie, Lydia, Luke, Lonnie and Charlotte; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons-in-law, Jonathan Dollar and Steve Dewayne Baldwin.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
