Funeral services for Lois English, 92, of Alba, were held on September 16, at First Baptist Church of Alba, with Algia Allen officiating. Interment was in Salem Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Ragsdale, Randall Ator, Mason Ragsdale, Jeremy Ragsdale, Jesse Haggerty, David Potts, Mike Gerrero and Brandon Hass. Honorary pallbearers were Jaxon Ringgold, Jesse Sneed and Jase Thompson.
Mrs. English died on September 13, 2024, at her home in Alba. She was born on April 6, 1932, in Cloudy, Okla., to Claude and Clara Harper Goheen. She was a member of Alba Church of Christ.
Mrs. English was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. English; daughter, Lana English-McAree; brothers, Bud Goheen and Louis Goheen; and sisters, Faye Thurman, Mildred Goheen, Dora Self and Lucille Butler.
She is survived by her son, Jay Haggerty of Alba; four granddaughters, Bailey Thompson and husband Jase of Sulphur Springs, Layci Haggerty and David Tredway of Quitman, Latona English of Alba, and Tasha Ringgold and husband Joe of Alba; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ringgold of Alba, Adyson Ringgold of Alba, Jesse Sneed of Quitman, Cove English of Alba, and Conlei Jacobs of Alba; nieces and nephews, Toni Butler of Alba, and Cliff Self and wife Donna of Alba; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services were under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
