Funeral services for Leta Mae Hurst-Rabe, 88, of Emory, will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. C.J. Duffy will officiate. Interment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Point. Serving as pallbearers will be Brennan Hurst, Bryce Hurst, Robbie Cotton, Dillon Cotton, Cody Cotton and Kanyon Hurst.
Mrs. Hurst-Rabe died on July 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 3, 1935, to Clarence Elmo Stewart and Lura Patterson Stewart in Merit.
She graduated from Lone Oak High School, where she excelled. She managed and renovated property.
Mrs. Hurst-Rabe had a great sense of humor and a deep love for her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for treasure hunting at garage sales and she found beauty in what others might overlook. She had a talent for quilt-making and created beautiful masterpieces.
She was married to Sammy Hurst for 24 years until his death and she later married Glynn Rabe in 1984.
Mrs. Hurst-Rabe is survived by children, Steven and Sheriee Hurst, Anette and Dick Foster, Vicki and Jack Walker and Roger and Trena Hurst; grandchildren, Roger and Meagan Hurst, Derek Hurst, Brian Hurst, Kanyon Hurst, Sammye and Robert Cotton, Sara Foster and Nick, Shanda and Justin Ramm, Syrus Hurst and Stewart Hurst; great-grandchildren, Brennan, Bryce, Michaela, River, Kenneth, Berkleigh, Brayden, Dillon, Cody, Bo, Luke, Tavin, Austin, Allie, Jaycee, Carter and Raylee; and siblings, Judy and Don Cecil and Joe Don Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; brothers, Billy, Jerry Pat, Harold and Glen; sisters, Joyce and Syble; daughter, Anette; and granddaughters, Sammye and Kayla.
A visitation will be held on July 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
