Leonard Guy Gross

1929 – 2026

Leonard Guy “Chuck” Gross, 96, died peacefully on August 16, 2026, at his home in Emory. He was born on December 16, 1929, in Stoneham, Colorado.

Mr. Gross was a proud veteran and retired after 20 years of service in the Air Force. During his military years he attended college.

After his military career, he entered the construction business, leaving his mark on the Dallas skyline by building the iconic Spaghetti Warehouse. He also built his own home. He married Doris on July 3, 1984, in Plano, and they were married 42 years. He was an avid fisherman, and spent countless hours on the water, teaching his family about lakes and water sports. Later in life, he found delight in playing dominoes.

His life was strongly rooted in his faith. He loved the Lord dearly and was a devoted member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.

Mr. Gross is survived by his wife; children, Debbie, Rusty, Rick, Gary, Becky Charla, and Darrell; sister, Evelyn; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Helen Gross; two siblings; his daughter, infant girl, and son, Earl Ellis.
