Funeral services for Kody Pounds, 22, of Emory, were held on November 29, 2023, at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home, officiated by James Williams. Interment followed in Smyrna Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Pounds Jr., Kolton Pounds, Konner Pounds, Clint Davis, William Peterson, Bo Clifton, Nole Peterson, Hunter Davidson and Roddy Lambeth.
Mr. Pounds died on November 25, 2023. He was born on February 15, 2001, in Sulphur Springs, to Kenneth Pounds Sr. and Bonnie Peterson.
Mr. Pounds graduated from Edgewood High School in 2019. He was a hot shot driver for BH Harris Transportation, His passion for driving took him to new places and allowed him to embrace his adventurous side.
Mr. Pounds is survived by his father; sister, Sabrina Garza; brothers, Kenneth Pounds Jr. and wife Tabitha, William Peterson and wife Jennifer, and Kolton Pounds; grandmother, Jan Clifton; uncles, Bo Clifton and wife Liz, and Billy Lomax; aunt, Nellie Johnson; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandfather, Bobby Clifton; grandparents, Cecil and Ruth Pounds; uncle, Roy Johnson; and aunt Joan Lomax.
