A Celebration of Life for Johnnye Easley, 78, will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Easley died on June 8, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 8, 1945, in Alba, to Johnnie and Thelma (Panter) McAree.
Mrs. Easley led a remarkable life filled with passion and dedication. She ran a country western store named Johnnye’s Western Wear for several years before it closed and she decided to help her husband painting and renovating homes.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a love for the outdoors, whether it was gardening with her husband, fishing in her brothers’ ponds, where she always wanted to catch the most fish, or replanting anything. Her marriage of 28 years to Richard nurtured a loving relationship that inspired all those around them.
In the face of adversity, she remained a pillar of strength. Her warm personality endeared her to everyone she met, leaving an lasting impact on their lives.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Easley; daughters, Carla Lipe and husband Joel, and Dana Rains; son, Shannon White; bonus children, Paul Easley and wife Julie and Kristi Boone and husband Shannon; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Gary McAree and wife Dolores and Stanley McAree.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, J.V. White; sisters-in-law, Elaine McAree and Darlene Calhoun; and great friend, Mary Helen.
Memorial donations may be made to the Colony Cemetery in her honor.
