James R. Blake, 71, of Alba, died on July 9, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 30, 1952, in Morton, to Bill R. Blake Jr. and Juanita Blake.
In his youth, Mr. Blake was an accomplished baseball player. He met his wife Gisela on the dance floor. They had a lifetime of love and partnership. He loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing. He was also known for his kindness toward animals. He was a dedicated worker and a perfectionist. His passion for excellence extended into his career as the proud owner of Blake Electric.
Mr. Blake is survived by his wife; sister, Janice Steward and husband Roger; brothers, Joel Blake and Johnny Blake; nephew, Andrew Crocker; and niece, Halie Werge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Bobo; and brother, Jimmy Blake.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
