Funeral services for Ivory Joe “Bucky” Jackson, 64, of Emory, were held on November 24, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Apostle Dwight Smith and Reverend Bobby Thomas officiated. Interment followed at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson died on November 22, 2023, at Christus Hospital in Sulphur Springs. He was born on February 18, 1959, in Emory, to Leon Jackson and Bettie Heard Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was self-employed and possessed an array of skills. He enjoyed working out and bodybuilding. Boxing was another passion he held close to his heart. He also achieved a black belt in karate.
He is survived by his father, Leon Jackson and wife Verta Jackson; children, Kriszy Murray, Chris and Kaylee Jackson, Corey Jackson, Colby and Nisi Jackson, Brittany Jackson and Montana, Whitney and Chad Balfour, and Jessvon Jackson; grandchildren, Airun Dunn, Kevin Sparks, Major Riley, Coryn Jackson, Gabby Jackson, Chloe Jackson, Alexie Castillo, Brooklynn Jackson, Mia Jackson, Avery Jackson, Alora Kiszer and Beckham Balfour; brothers, Cleon Jackson, Tony Jackson, Karon Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Evender Jackson, Lynn Jackson, Donnie Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Timothy Jackson and Tommy Jackson; sisters, Bettie Jo Jackson, Lavounda Jackson and Jessica Jackson; step-brother and sister, Roger Briggs, Judy Briggs and Gloria Briggs; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Kaywood Abernathy; grandmother, Gracie Jackson and grandparents.
