A visitation service for Gladys French McGuire Cutler, 102, of Emory, was held on September 6, 2022, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.
Mrs. Cutler died on September 1, 2022, in Emory. She was born on December 3, 1919, in Teague, to Pinkney Russell French and Mary Elizabeth Hornbuckle French.
She married David T. McGuire in 1945. He and their son, Michael, died in 1971. She married Quentin R. Cutler in 1979, in Arlington. She worked in Hawaii during World War II and later in Alaska, Ethiopia, Australia and Washington D.C. She was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cutler is survived by her stepdaughters, Valerie McDaniel of Houston, Claudia DeMoss of Dallas and Pamela Bolen of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Dana McDaniel, Brent McDaniel, Shelby Arnson, Stephanie Carriveau and Chase DeMoss; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brooklyn McDaniel, Samantha and Jacob Carriveau, and Meghan Trieweiler.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Michael McGuire; sister, Catherine Ely; brother, Ruby French; nephew, Robert French; and niece, LaVerne Robbins.
