Graveside services for Gearld Thomas Taylor, 85, of Alba, will be held on Thursday, February 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Alba.
Mr. Taylor died on February 20, 2023, in Quitman. He was born on May 16, 1937, in Alba, to Odis Thomas and Vyra Beulah Gilbreath Taylor. He lived all his life in the Alba area. On November 4, 1978, he married Freida Lynn Hawthorn in Alba. He was funny, witty and a very hard worker. He was a truckdriver and drove millions of miles.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his four daughters, Delaine Lusk and husband Don of Tyler, Cassandra Gross and husband Luke of Hawkins, Lytchia Foster of Alba, and Michelle Freeman of Chandler; sister, Betty Alexander of Alba; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 28 years, Freida Taylor; and son, Dewayne Taylor.
Services are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
