Franklin Delano Baughman, Jr.

1957 – 2024

Franklin Delano Baughman, Jr., 66, died on August 17, 2024, in Tyler. He was born on September 28, 1957, in El Paso, Texas, to Franklin Sr. and Sallie Baughman

Mr. Baughman was a master plumber and pipe fitter. He was married to his wife, Lois, for 42 years. He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was a self-taught guitar player and loved nothing more than to play guitar and sing for his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing so much he moved his family to the Emory/Lake Fork area from Everman/Fort Worth in 1995.

Mr. Baughman was known for his determination and resilience and he never backed down from a challenge and he fought until the end. Many nights were spent entertaining his children and grandchildren by a campfire, barbecuing, telling stories of his childhood, and hooting with the owls.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Carri and husband Jeremy, Michelle and partner Matthew, and Jennifer; son, Kenny and his partner Kim; twelve grandchildren, (Big)Dakota, Hunter, (Little)Dakota, Shannon, Hayden, Addison, Logan, Case, Gavin, Michael, Franklin and Lliam; great-grandchildren, Rhea, Jaxston and Jayla; siblings, Debbie, Kenny, Robert, Anthony, Martha and Brad; aunt, Pat; and numerous nieces, nephews, and countless cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles; and several cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on “his acre,” Saturday, September 28, 2024, which would have been his 67th birthday.
