Funeral services for Edward Franklin Burns, 94, of Point, will be held on Friday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Greater Vision Church in West Tawakoni. Bro. Matt Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Hooker Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mr. Burns died on February 24, 2023, at his residence in Point. He was born on February 20, 1929, in Dallas, to William and Lottie Smith Burns. He moved to Point from Dallas 45 years ago and was a member of Greater Vision Church in West Tawakoni. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a very strong man who worked a lot and provided for his family that he loved greatly.
Mr. Burns is survived by six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Lorene Burns; stepsons, Don Childers, Leroy Childers and Larry Childers; and grandchildren, Donna, Rochelle and Renae.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Bartley Funeral Home in Lone Oak.
