Services for Carolyn Joyce Woodward Elliott, 77, of Lone Oak, will be held on Monday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m., at Lone Oak United Methodist Church. Rev. Beth Ensor will officiate. Interment will follow in Lone Oak City Cemetery. Serving a pallbearers will be Randy Stracener, Gary Wallace, Perry Sandlin, Rod Groves, Jerry McGee, and Aaron Rivers.
Mrs. Elliott died on August 5, 2024, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born on December 25, 1946, in Callaway, Nebraska, to Merril E. and Esther C. Woodward. On November 22, 1975, she married Richard Elliott. They resided in Callaway, Neb. until moving to Lone Oak in 1979. After completing Greenville Beauty School, she owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years. She entered nursing school, where she graduated as an RN. She worked for many years at Hunt Regional Medical Center, until her retirement.
Mrs. Elliott was known for her love for her family and was always there to support them in their endeavors. Every Wednesday night she hosted Pizza and Wheel of Fortune Night and each fall she could be found bonding with her grandchildren while making candy.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years of Lone Oak; son, Doug Rood “Elliott” and Kristi Graham of Lone Oak; daughter, Dana Sandlin of Greenville; brother, Cecil Woodward of Callaway, Neb.; sister, Peggy Holeman of Amherst, Neb; grandchildren, Brandon, Briana, Jada, and Chase and fiancé Bethany; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Detta Wright; two brothers, Larry Woodward and Gail Woodward; and brother-in-law, Dick Holeman.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
