A Celebration of Life for Bobby Jack Wheatley, 83, of Alba, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Wheatley died on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Dallas. He was born on September 18, 1940, in Waxahachie, to Jackson Anderson and Nolie Opal Jenkins Wheatley. He moved to the Alba area from Lancaster, 20 years ago. Before retiring, he worked as a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Martin for 43 years testing rockets. He also worked as a police officer for the city of Lancaster for over 20 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed countless hours on Lake Fork during his retirement years. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Wheatley is survived by his daughter, Melissa Mohr and husband Michael of Alba; granddaughter, Rachael Mohr; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Rhonda Joslin Wheatley.
The family will have a Celebration of Life honoring Bobby at a later date.
