Funeral services for Bimmy Ray Boyles, 68, of Alba, were held on February 24, at New Horizon Assembly of God. Bro. Randy Fisher, Max Cunningham, and Bro. Otis Lea officiated. Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gerald Bolin, John Currey, Ronnie Monk, John Whitus, Mike Whitus and Robert Clinard. The Irving Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Boyles died on February 21, 2023, in Tyler. He was born on February 7, 1955, in Grand Saline, to William Ray and Margarette Boyles. He graduated from Grand Saline High School, Class of 1973. He spent all his life in the Van Zandt County area where he was a member of New Horizon Assembly of God. He retired from the Irving Fire Department as a Lieutenant, after 37 years of service, and was a member of the Irving Firefighters Association. He was an avid fisherman and had also pastored Cottonwood Assembly of God, New Horizon Assembly of God and Canton First Assembly.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Billie Boyles, of Alba; his parents of Grand Saline; son, Bryan Boyles and wife Leesa of Grand Saline; sister-in-law, Teena Boyles of Grand Saline; three grandchildren, Parker Boyles of Richardson, Blake Boyles of Grand Saline and Graham Boyles of Grand Saline; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Wayne Boyles; and his in-laws, Everett and Bea Whitus.
Services were under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
