A memorial service for Joi Anette Hurst Foster of Emory will be scheduled at a later date.
Mrs. Foster died on February 19, 2020. She was born on June 6, 1957, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Sammy Ray and Leta Mae Stewart Hurst. She married Richard (Dick) Foster on August 6, 1976, in Point.
She lived most of her life in Emory. Over the years she worked at Rains ISD, the Rains County Sheriff’s Office and the Rains County Courthouse. She was a Girl Scout leader and loved to fish.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband of Emory; daughters, Sammye Cotton and husband Robert of Wills Point, and Sara Foster Lipsey of Celeste; mother, Leta Rabe of Emory; sister, Vicki Walker and husband Jack of Alba; brothers, Steve Hurst and wife Sheriee of Point, and Roger Hurst and wife Trena of Oklahoma; grandsons, Dillon Cotton, Cody Cotton, Bo Lipsey and Luke Lipsey; special friends, Larna Greer, Jeannine Hayes and Joyce Bell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Foster donated her body to medical research and requested for no funeral to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UT Southwestern Medical research, ALS research or the American Heart Association.
