A funeral service for U.Z. Bell, 88, of Emory, was held May 8 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Homer Morgan officiated.
Interment followed at Colony Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shane Fritch, Randy Parker, Brad Bell, John Michael Parker, Roger Carroll and Nathan Jones.
Mr. Bell died at his home on May 5, 2021. He was born on September 27, 1932, in Rains County, to Henry W. Bell and Esther Pearl Bullock. He married Martha Pliler in Abilene on November 15, 1949. He was a retired baker and worked at Sunbeam Baking Company and Manor Bakery Company for 35 years.
Mr. Bell is survived by son, Larry Bell and wife Claudia of Emory; daughters, Sharon Parker and husband Michael of Tyler and Melissa Roberts and husband William of Denison; grandchildren, Brad Bell, Randy Parker, Cari Carroll, Jonathan Parker, Shane Fritch and Paige Jones; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Sue Barham; brother, Dillard Bell and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife in July of 2017; his parents; brothers, Julius Leon Bell and Joe Henry Bell; and grandson, Chris Bell.
