Windle Dwayne Gaston

1970 – 2023

A celebration of life for Windle Dwayne Gaston, 52, of Alba, will be held on Thursday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m., at Mineola Church of Christ, with Jeremy Harrell officiating, under the direction of family and friends. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Gaston died on January 14, 2023, at his residence in Alba, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 25, 1970, in Quitman, to Wilson Dwayne and Rhonda Langley Gaston. He grew up in Alba with his father, Dwayne and his second mom, Bonnie. 

He graduated from Miller Grove High School in 1989. He was employed by Morton Salt in Grand Saline from 1992-2020. His love for dirt track racing began at an early age and in 2021 he began working at Day Motor Sport in Tyler. He also enjoyed bass fishing, cooking and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of Mineola Church of Christ and he was strong in his faith. 

Mr. Gaston is survived by his wife of six years, Julie Gaston of Alba; mothers, Rhonda Clarke and husband Wesley of Sulphur Springs and Bonnie Sloan and husband J.D. of Grand Saline; son, Corey Gaston of Grand Saline; step children, Dalton Lee and wife Alex of Tyler, Savannah Lee of Mineola, Lexy Cannady and husband Noah of Lone Oak, and Dylan Lee of Fort Myer, VA; grandchildren, Presleigh, Hopelynn and Benjamin; brother, Kinne Gaston and wife Amanda; step brothers, Jared Sloan and wife Mary and Jason Sloan and wife Amber; grandmothers, Mildred Gaston and Doris Gowin both of Emory; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Dwayne Gaston; grandfathers, E.O. Gaston, Sr., and Willis Langley; and step-grandfather, Kenny Gowin.
