Funeral services for Wilma Lane, 69, of Emory, will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Dwight Smith and Reverend Bobby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane was born on September 21, 1953, to Lauston Boyce and Exie Briscoe Boyce in Emory. She married Jerry Lane in December of 1972 in Emory. She loved nursing and worked as an LVN for long term care and in geriatrics. She devoted many of her years to Green Acres Nursing Home and ended her career at Canton Oaks Nursing Home. She loved her grandchildren and being a “Granny.” She loved cooking and loved her savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Jacksonville Church of Deliverance.
Mrs. Lane is survived by her children, Nikola Boyce, Yasei Lane, Natasha Lane, Lashamalar Wilburn and Edward, Jerry Lane Jr. and Broderick Lane; grandchildren, Tristan Govan and Kendall, Nakedran Murphy and Kalli, Jaelon Brown, Makenna Lane, Kenton Horton, and Elijah Wilburn; great-grandchildren, Colton, Emory, Kinsley and Avani; sisters, Barbara Smith and Deloris Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Jodie Boyce, Freddie Boyce, Travis Boyce and Dewayne Boyce; niece, Yashaki Jackson; and nephew, Branshaun Boyce.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
