Funeral services for William Richard Griffin, 83, were held on December 27, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Interment followed at Dougherty Cemetery. Mr. Griffin died on December 23, 2024. He was born on January 27, 1941.
Mr. Griffin was married to Tommye Sue for 60 beautiful years until her death in 2022. He loved Christ and his love for his family was his proudest accomplishment.
Mr. Griffin enjoyed fishing, camping and garage sales. He was known for his adventurous spirit and enjoyed trips to Colorado. He enjoyed hunting and camping excursions. He was the camp cook and delighted in cooking over a fire, creating memorable meals that brought family and friends together.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his daughter, Lori Dickens and husband Rex; grandchildren, Hunter Dickens and wife Leah, and Hannah Dickens and fiancé Kash Sisk; brother, Covey Ben Griffin and wife Gigi Griffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Tommye Sue; their son, baby Griffin; sister, Judith Kay; and both of his parents.
Donations may be made in his honor to the Dougherty Cemetery in Emory.
