Vernon Duane Van Asperen (always known as Andy) 92, died on August 27, 2026, in East Tawakoni. He was born on July 7, 1934. in rural Springfield, South Dakota in Bon Homme County.
Mr. Van Asperen learned how to deal with horses and crops. He joined the Air Force on September 15, 1962, and served for 9 years and 8 months. While in the Air Force, he came to love flying planes, and up to his death bed, he dreamed about flying. He became an air carrier maintenance inspector and air carrier electronics inspector for GS-9, to GS-11 and GS-12.
He was a law officer in Quinlan and Rains County. He was a disabled veteran. He was married to Bonnie Lee Hurn on January 29, 1966 until her death on May 10, 2005. He knew the Lord Jesus Christ personally. The nurses who came to help him daily were Kimberly Crocker, Amy Landers, Jose Franco, Jenny Cauthon, and Taylor Stewart, all registered nurses.
