Funeral services for Steve Pritchett, 92, will be held on Friday, March 29, at 10:30 a.m., at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m., in Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.
Mr. Pritchett died on March 24, 2024, at Lake Point Hospital in Rowlett. He was born on March 14, 1932, in Foreman, Arkansas, to Claude “Bill” Edward Pritchett.
Mr. Pritchett spent much of his youth between Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He married Effie “Sue” Pritchett on December 22, 1954 in Garland, and they were married 66 years before she died. He was a veteran who proudly served in the Navy Seabees. He translated his knowledge of heavy equipment into a thriving excavation business in Dallas until he retired. His second careers in cattle and real estate began when he moved to Point in 1990. He was a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by son, Douglas Pritchett and wife Joni; daughter, Deborah Everett and husband Arlie; granddaughter, Krystal Palyu; grandson, Marshall Everett and wife Katie Labor; and great-granddaughter, Josephine Margaret Everett.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Preston Pritchett; and sister, Claudine Wahnon.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home.
