Robert Rose

Services for Robert Rose, 70, of Point were held March 28. Bro. Zachary Honzell officiated.  

Interment followed in East Mount Cemetery in Greenville. Pallbearers were Jackie Oler, Bill Pritchett, Austin Rose, Dave Rose, Herschall Patrick Welch and George Albert Welch Jr. Honorary pallbearers were John Floyd, James Ivy, Herschall Rose and Willie Williams. 

Mr. Rose died on March 26, 2020, at his home. He was born in Bakersfield, California, to H. C. and Ona Elizabeth Rogers Rose on June 2, 1949. He married Lynda Curtis Pritchett in Carrollton, on August 20, 1982. They raised three children. They moved to Point in 1989, fulfilling their dream to have a home in the country.

Mr. Rose worked as an electrician, owning the family business Computer Room Installation Specialist, and as an electronics technician during his career. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war, achieved his BS in Applied Arts & Sciences from Texas A&M-Commerce and was an Alpha Chi and Phi Theta Kappa honors society member. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Point where he served as Sunday school director, teacher, choir member, sound technician and on several committees. 

Mr. Rose is survived by three children, Dave Rose and wife Tina of Carl Junction, Mo., Bill Pritchett and wife Wendy of Allen, and Amy Rose Fawks of Meta, Mo.; eight grandchildren;  eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; countless friends; and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd Carden Jr.; and sisters, Peggy Jo Carden-Welch and Ona Beth Rose-Floyd.  

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
