Graveside services for Ola Imogene Lester Schones, 85, of Lone Oak, were held on August 13, at Donelton Cemetery in Lone Oak. Bro. Mark Slaughter officiated.
Mrs. Schones died on August 10, 2022, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born on February 9, 1937, in Dallas, to James Whitfield and Alta Leona Johnson Lester. She married Donnie Ray Schones on December 13, 1954, in Tarrant County. She moved from Dallas to Lone Oak 60 years ago and was a member of Donelton Baptist Church. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their families. She also enjoyed cooking breakfast for everyone.
Mrs. Schones was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years; three sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Schones and wife Tammie of Lone Oak; daughter, Debbie Slaughter and husband Mark of Lone Oak; sister, Charlene Smith of Gresham, Oregon; five grandchildren, Michael Slaughter and wife Ashley, Natasha Smallwood and husband Jessie, Wendal Schones and wife Tiffany, Caleb Schones and wife Rikki, and Rosa Schones and Joey; eleven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jon, Monica, Preston, Katie, Tyler, Charlie, Sadie, Memphis, Gemma Nell and Kayden; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
