Maxine Gaby Foster

1933 – 2026

A graveside service for Maxine Gaby Foster, was held on June 12, at Emory City Cemetery, officiated by Jonathan Criswell. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Stafford, Caleb Simmons, Dawayne Arbour, John Michael Hill, Billy Hill, Randy Warren. David Comb served as honorary pallbearer. She was laid to rest beside her husband, Melvin Foster.

Mrs. Foster died on June 9, 2026. She was born March 29, 1933, in Emory, to Thomas Nelson Gaby and Georgia Ruth Jones Gaby. 

Mrs. Foster graduated from Emory High School in 1950 and married Melvin Lynn Foster on August 5, 1950 in Rooser. She was a member of the Assembly of Yahvah and loved her Savior. She worked at Continental Trailway and Collins Radio in Dallas. She moved to Emory in late 1960’s and worked for Good Samaritan unclaimed freight.

Mrs. Foster is survived by daughter, Susan Foster; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Foster; son-in-law, Roy Simmons; sister, Ann Daugherty and Nolan; brother, Charles Gaby; grandchildren, Chad Simmons, Phillip Smith, Gay and Tony Hill, Patrica Patrick, and Kimber and David Combs; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Pat Foster and Michael Foster; daughter, Rhonda Simmons; grandsons, Derek and Jarrod Tanton; great-granddaughter, Lacy Hill; brothers, Don Gaby, Lloyd Gaby, Jimmy Gunter; and niece, Elizabeth Gail Gaby.
