A graveside service for Mary Lou Neal, 79, was held on October 28 at Hooker Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Neal died at Baylor Hospital in Dallas on October 24, 2023. She was born on July 8, 1944, in Dallas, to John A. Gaston and Floy Gaston.
She married Troy C. Neal and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was an avid reader and also took pride in being a dairy farmer along with her husband.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Newby and Christine, and Matthew Newby; grandchildren, Hayden Newby, Jordyn Hooten and Clayton Wallace; great-grandchildren, Jensen Hooten and Layton Hooten; siblings, John Gaston, Jr., Pearl Reeves and Robert, and Molly Fletcher and Roy; daughter-in-law, Cindy Newby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, John Neal; daughter, Donna Chester; siblings, Lowell Gaston, Dorothy Camp and Joyce Gaston
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
