Loy Dale Pressley Jr

1943 – 2023

Funeral services for Loy Dale Pressley Jr., 80, of Emory, were held on September 7, at Emory Church of Christ. Cody McCoy officiated. Interment followed in Colony Cemetery in Alba. Pallbearers were Winston Pressley, Matthew Hanstad, Garrett Hanstad, James Aldridge, Brandon Randall and Aiden Bolli. 

Mr. Pressley died on August 30, 2023, in Winnsboro, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1943, in Ft. Worth, to Loy Dale Pressley Sr. and Dorothy Helen Foust. 

He graduated from Brewer High School in 1961 and joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked as a civilian contractor for the Air Force and later for Alyeska Pipeline. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Honnie Kaye Parker on August 28, 1961. He was a devout follower of Christ and served by running the men’s group at church and reached over 300 people every Sunday through an online Sunday school.

Mr. Pressley is survived by his wife; daughter, Rebecca Pressley; daughter-in-law, Amy Pressley; brothers, Jim Pressley, Jack and Bonnie Pressley, and Jerry and Kim Pressley; grandchildren, Rachael Pressley, Rebecca and Sean Bolli, Winston and Kathy Pressley, Matthew and Kim Hanstad; Garrett Hanstad, and Honor and Brandon Randall; eleven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Aiden, Makayla, Lailah, Ramsay, Logan, Grace, Bennett, Ronnie, Owen and Pete. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Pressley; and grandchildren, Corey and Ryan Hanstad and Sydney Pressley.
