Lou Walthall

1942 – 2021

Funeral services for Lula Belle “Lou” Taylor Walthall, 79, of West Tawakoni, were held on December 31, at Ingram Funeral Home of Quinlan. Interment followed at Emory City Cemetery.

Mrs. Walthall died on December 26, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1942, in Rains County, to Otis Dayton and Eva Belle Latham Taylor. 

She married Sammy Potts in 1959 and they had two children. In 1974, she married Ronnie Walthall who had four children. She worked as a waitress in restaurants in and around West Tawakoni, where she has lived since 1974.

Mrs. Walthall is survived by son, Kenneth Potts of Tawakoni; daughter, Tammie Holland of Lone Oak; stepson, Jack Walthall and wife Hilda; stepdaughter, DeDee Walthall of Oklahoma; brothers, Odie Taylor and wife Dorothy of Emory, Lester Taylor and wife Deloris of Kaufman, and Harrel Taylor of Fort Worth; sister, Lena Nugent and husband Larry of Emory; grandchildren, Josh, Amie, Ronnie and Eva; great-grandchildren, Noah, Alexander and Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis Taylor; husbands; grandson; son-in-law; and two stepchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.
