Larry Daily, 77, died on June 17, 2026, in Watauga. He was born on January 10, 1949, in Greenville, to Orvin and Glydene Daily.
Mr. Daily grew up in the country with his siblings fishing, gardening and raising cows. He and his brother (and best friend) Wayne were always up to something. In high school he was very active in FFA winning several awards at the Texas State Fair with his cows, Tina and Kay.
He met the love of his life, Virginia “Lollee” in Garland, at Belt Line Baptist Church and they were married on February 29, 1968. They had three children. They loved and raised their children according to the Word, to love Jesus and in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
Mr. Daily worked in construction and remodeling in the Dallas area. He could build anything, especially if it was something his wife concocted for the kids. From ice cream sandwich benches, to make believe kitchens, doll houses and furniture…if his wife thought of it…he could build it.
He loved to fish, and a trip to his favorite store, Bass Pro, almost always ended in the purchase of a new pole, whether he needed it or not.
He was a man of God and lived his life that way. He wanted people to know that there is salvation through Jesus Christ. For most of his life, he was a song leader; picking, singing and leading hymns. He had a beautiful voice and taught his children to sing and found great joy in singing with his entire family, whether it was just “jamming” at the house, or for worship at a church.
Mr. Daily is survived by his son, Joel Daily and wife Kelley; daughter, Mandy Ausmus and husband Charles; grandchildren, Courtney Spence and husband Andrew, Hannah Dean and husband Jeremy, Nayeli, Kaden and Jack Ausmus, and Erin Michelle Caffey; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Addie Mae, Cullen, Asia and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Penny; grandsons, Matthew Ryan and Tyler Paul; and siblings, Carol, Wayne and Bill.
