Raylene Vail, 77, of Dallas, died on September 1, 2026, at Beacon Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Rockwall. She was born Jewel Raylene Southerland on January 6, 1949, in Dallas, to Clyde Relya and Elmer Southerland.
She married Dennis Michael Vail, son of Bill and Polly (Glover) Vail, on December 25, 1989, in Dallas at her house on Clover Haven Street. They were married for over eight years until his death. She had no children of her own, however, she had seven stepsons from her husband’s first marriage. She raised Crystal Staton as her own daughter. Two stepsons and three grandchildren live in Rains County.
She is survived by Deborah Sewell and Mike Southerland; and Crystal Staton.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
