Funeral services for James Dennis Brown, 74, of Alba, will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Pastor Edward Crouch officiating.
Interment will follow in Tranquil Cemetery, Winfield, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Espinoza, Logan Brown, Jacob Brown, Coltyn Clem, Jimmy Brown, Chris Brown, Jeremy Bowen, and Caleb Huckaba.
Mr. Brown died on August 7, 2026, unexpectedly. He was born on June 28, 1952, in La Porte, Texas, to James Dalton and Ruth Haley Brown.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Doreen Brown, and a man who loved his family more than anything. His greatest joy was being a husband, father and grandfather.
He was a hardworking mechanic who spent many years working with his hands and helping others.
He enjoyed watching sprint car racing, riding motorcycles, and especially loved Harley-Davidson.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of Alba; sons, Jimmy Brown and wife Kelly of Little Elm and Chris Brown and wife Patti of Forney; stepdaughters, Rebecca Clem and husband Coltyn of Alba and Nichole Wellman and husband Chad of Royse City; stepsons, Jeremy Bowen and wife Erin of Royse City and James Bowen and wife Patty of Caddo Mills; brother, Kenneth Brown and wife Beth of Norman, Okla.; sister, Linda Cox and husband Bobby of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Jason, Logan, Jacob, Cameron, Aubrey, Maddox, and Delenn; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
