Services for Henry Lee Hass, 78, of Alba, were held on October 11 at Enon Baptist Church of Alba. Bro. Reggie Day officiated.
Interment followed in Enon Cemetery, Alba. Pallbearers were members of the Alba Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Jeremy Ragsdale, Mason Ragsdale, Matt Ingram, Matt Haisten, Dakota Poston and Jake Hass; and the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Mr. Hass died on October 8, 2019, in Quitman. He was born July 6, 1941, in Emory to Charles Henry and Lela Arlena Attaway Hass. He married Margie Helen Deas on December 1, 1972, in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hass was a roofer in the construction industry. He lived all of his life in Alba where he served on the Alba Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years. He served as Chief of the Alba VFD for 15 years. He loved the outdoors, including fishing and hunting, reading, singing, shade trees and Friday night football. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Mr. Hass is survived by his wife of Alba; sons, Asa Staley of Alba, John Staley and wife Kim of Rockwall, and Jackie Staley of Alba; daughters, Gloria Ragsdale and husband Mike of Alba, Marie Ingram and husband Don of Quitman, Gay Poston and husband Gilley of Alba, Libby Hass of Alba, and Chastity Hass of Alba; brother, Waymon Hass and wife Frances of Prosper; sisters, Gail Nichols and husband Steve of Tyler, Verdie Henson and husband Perry of Whitehouse, and Kay Blackford and husband Randy of Alba; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson Mike Poston.
