Funeral services for Elvin Hobbs, 84, of Emory, will be held on Saturday, July 31, at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Arbie Hobbs will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Derrick McMillan, Raymond Robinson, Connie Clayton, Clifton Hobbs, Chase Hill, Montrea Hobbs and Colton Blodgett. Honorary pallbearers will be RV Clayton “Dap,” Norris Mayberry, Hubert Robinson Jr., Odie Bozeman and Willie Mornes.
Mr. Hobbs died on July, 22, 2021, in Tyler. He was born on April 13, 1937, to Elbert and Elma Robinson Hobbs in Point. He attended Richland Baptist Church at an early age.
He married Thelma Bozeman on August 26, 1972. They cherished 48 years of marriage. Mr. Hobbs worked as a concrete finisher for several companies and was described to be a hard worker that provided for his family until his retirement.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Thelma Hobbs of Emory; daughters, Toni Jones of Beaumont and Kimberly Hobbs of Emory; son, Michael Hobbs of Point; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; brother, Lee Hobbs of Emory; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charlie E. Hobbs and Famous Hobbs; and sisters, Anna Hobbs Stokes and Patricia Hobbs Lloyd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hopewell Cemetery Fund or Prairie Grove Fund.
A visitation will be held at noon at Wilson-Orwosky chapel, prior to the service.
