A burial service for Wayne Brooks Leshe, 91, will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Winnsboro.
Mr. Leshe died on March 18, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1932, to Brooks Talton Leshe and Annie Ashford Henderson Leshe in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He attended many schools completing his 8th through 12th grade education and graduating from Winnsboro High School in May 1950. Following his graduation, he attended East Texas State College and graduated in May 1954 with a BS in Accounting. He married Patsy Jean Satterwhite and was blessed with four daughters.
Mr. Leshe served in the US Air Force. He worked at the Farmers Home Administration in St. Louis, Missouri as the chief accountant for the Federal Communications Commission (Washington, DC) and the US Pentagon from where he retired.
He was active in Woosley Baptist Church in Point for many years. He was also active in the Point City Council, Rains County Historical Commission, the Rains County Genealogical Society and many other organizations prior to moving to Silver Elm Estates in Edmond, Oklahoma in 2018. He was a Life Time member of the Masonic Lodge (32 Degree Mason), the York Rite, Order of DeMolay and Ainad Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the American Legion where he served as chaplain for Rains County.
Mr. Leshe is survived by her daughters, Tanya Cotton and husband Jeff of Apopka, Florida, Tacia Bethel of O’Fallon, Illinois, Tammy Curtis and husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Tracy Silva of McHenry, Illinois; sister, Beverly Schmedthorst, of Poolville; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Craig, Christopher, Lauren, Ashleigh, Tyler, Austin and Logan; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Lucas, Scotland, Scarlett and John; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and his brother, Gene E. Leshe.
