A private family service will be held for Mr. John Michael Spatola, Sr., 79, of Emory.
Mr. Spatola died on February 19, 2021, in Tyler. He was born on July 25, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mike Joseph and Lucille Minitello Spatola. On August 13, 1965, he married Betty Sue McConnell in Phenix, Alabama. He was in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam era. He was a retired mechanic and truck driver. He had lived the last 20 years in Rains County. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR and westerns on TV.
Mr. Spatola is survived by his wife of Emory; two sons, John Spatola Jr. and wife Tonya of Kounze and Tony Spatola and wife April of Emory; two daughters, Michele Horne of Emory and Roxane Molandes and husband David of Lumberton; two sisters, Angela Clark and husband Mac and Lou Ann Cook and husband Chuck, all of Biloxi, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Justin McGee, Dakota Grass, Josie Spatola, Ashley McLemore, Chris Walters, Zachary Horne, Travis Horne and Tony Spatola Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
