William “Bill” Campbell, 75, died on July 7, 2026, in Emory. He was born on May 14, 1951, in Parma, Missouri, to William Edward Campbell and Mary Marie Hull Campbell.
Mr. Campbell attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he majored in physical education and minored in mathematics. He played both football and baseball, earning numerous awards.
After dedicating four years to teaching, he then transitioned into business, working as a buyer at Calgon before retiring as a manager at Shell. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting mark on colleagues and friends.
Faith was a cornerstone of Mr. Campbell’s life. He cherished attending church at Sweet Fellowship in Yantis, and was also a longtime member of City Temple in Granite City, Illinois.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Billy Campbell and Jessica Campbell Wright; grandchildren, Makiya Campbell, Alysabeth Campbell, Israel Campbell, Josephine Campbell, Tyler Wright, Ellisyn Campbell and Easton Wright; sisters, Linda Hormann and husband James, and Cindy Hundley and husband Charles; stepsons, Don Wooten, David Wooten and Daniel Wooten; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters, Debra Ann and Debra Jean; and nephew, James W. Hormann.
